Sunday Stampers: Hearts.

Well, we have had a touch of the white stuff again this afternoon, it hasn't landed but it sure feels cold. I thought I would warm myself up a tadge with some inking and was adamant that I wanted to make sure I did Hels Sunday Stamper this week, which is Endless love and hearts. I got out my roller and Bubble Gum Pink Dylusions ink which made me feel warmer already!

 

Next I stamped on Tim's Blue Print Love Heart  with black archival and stamped it again on Festive Berries stained paper. I cut out the heart and sloshed clear Rock Candy Stickles over it before layering it on with a sticky fixer. Then I die cut his Vintage Strip die out of some black paper to semi frame the heart. I had the word 'amour' as a small freebie stamp so that went around the main image. Next I painted card with Festive Berries stain and used another heart words stamp over the top then  punched out three hearts and added glossy accents over the top. To finish I added the words 'i' and 'you' from his chit chat stickers and used my black pen to add some lines and arrows to bring the design into the space on the card. Lovely to feel in a Valentine mood, I think my dear old hubby will be getting this tomorrow. Hope you all get roses and chocolates! x

Tim's tag for February

I have had a lovely time making Tim's tag today and then on a roll I made another one using techniques he has shown us before! I know, two at once, I'm determined to make more time to craft! If you are one of the two people left on the planet who have not looked at Tim's blog pop over here to see his original and to enjoy all the participants entries.When I saw his Valentine Blue Print stamps they were a had to have and I'm glad that he used them on this months tag.

 

 

I had some of the materials he used and some I improvised on. I used a heart embossing folder and a little heart punch that I used on the Kraft core paper and a jewellery finding instead of the memo pin. The hand is a Dylusion stamp and I hand drew the vial label. I used some paper tape that had the words Love and Laugh on and some white paper twine that I distressed. Then I used one of the other stamps in the set to make this.

 

I used Picked Raspberry and Festive Berry and Picket Fence Distress stain on my craft mat for the background of the tag and frayed and then edged it with Black Soot. I then embossed a dark red Kraft core paper as on the tag before and stamped the heart in black archival. Remembering Tim's Valentine tag last February I used the honeycombe paper  for the large heart and then tied a word band on with some red twine. In Tim's December 2012 tag he cut out from mirror board, letters using Word Play, so as I found some ribbed pink foil card I did the same here and finished off the tag with a string of red beads that I think look quite heart shaped that were part of an old bracelet. I topped the tag with pink stained tissue tape - I love that technique, thanks Tim!

My next challenge is to try and jazz up my blog, but I'm having trouble with getting Mr Blogger to play! Watch this space - happy crafting one and all.

Sunday Stamper: Wish.

I don't have a lot of time in my life to play as I would wish to. Like most people I have to juggle work and family to get time in my craft room. I had a short piece of time today and decided to try a very simple journal page for Hels Sunday Stamper challenge this week - Wish!

 



As you can see it is very simples, I just rollered some bright sunshine yellow Dylusion ink over the page, added my Stampotique figure in black archival with the heart bunting stamp above and drew in one beneath her that she is making. Then I stencilled the sentiment using masks and my Black Soot Distress marker and outlined the page with my pen. I so wish I could have had more time to do something elaborate, but tis better than nothing! I hope you all have more time than me to create,  Hels has certainly created beautiful pieces this week on her blog here do make a visit!

Sunday Stamper: Birds.

As we battle with the weather Hels aptly challenged Sunday Stamper this week is Birds press to go to the link! I expect most of us who are lucky enough to have a garden feed our feathered visitors. I live on an estate so do not have a huge variety of birds but the ones that come love the feeding station. I have had to put it up high because of my persian cats who I must admit are getting too old thankfully to hunt, but it always surprised me how two pampered fluffy lap cats could turn into hunting vixens! I have put out seed and peanuts and fat balls and meal worms and my garden robin is especially fond of the latter. Here is my offering this week on this theme.

 



Very difficult to photograph as the snow has covered the conservatory roof giving an eerie light so I took this indoors and the only place that worked was on the edge of the mantlepiece, sorry! I took a wooden shape of a bird house that was originally intended as a large plant label. Then I covered it in scraps of 7 Gypsies Conservatory papers and made a little ledge out of some mountboard, then edged all with some musical tissue tape. I stuck the label in a little box left over from a Christmas present covered in the same way and stuck this onto a square piece of mountboard for stability. The three stamped birds are from Paperartsy and Tim's 'Take Flight' set  and then I die cut a tattered banner to wrtite Feed the Birds as a timely reminder!

I realise that an infatuated Gran can be a tadge over the top but please forgive me - I have to post this one of Ryder nearly 6 months and edible! I love him huge huge amounts! Enough said.

 

He has just come back from a week skiing in France and enjoyed every minute of the snow so was not disappointed when he saw what was here!

Sunday Stamper: Dream

What a lovely title to do for the Sunday Stamper this week! I'm dreaming of being able to go to CHA like Hels, if you click on the link and get to her blog you can see what a wonderful time she is having, and it couldn't happen to a nicer person! At least we can enjoy her adventures! As she has set Dream for her challenge this week I thought I would try for an unusual card for my dear friend Sally, who will now know what I am sending her this month! XX Sal, here it is, I'll put it in the post asap.

 



I free hand cut out a butterfly from card and then used Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Walnut stain distress with my foam pads. Then I took archival coffee and stamped the french writing from Tim's

 French set and two incidental stamps of a star and a whirl. The lady is part of a collage stamp of a Diva, can't remember the maker sorry, and I used my pads and Distress markers to colour her gently. The sentiment was cut out seperately to give the words on the other wing and then I used one of my first sentiment stamps I brought on the bottom which was coloured in to match. The handles were then threaded with various beads from my stash. I quite like this for a card, you can write on the back and if you attached it with ribbon instead of beads it would fold and be easy to send in the post - I think I shall have to bubble pack this one! I took this photo in my conservatory but the light from the impending snow has  not given it such a warm colour as it is in real life. Least I'm saying it is because of the snow and not my lack of photography skills!

Playing with Craft Stamper

 

Morning all. Work is very quiet at the moment and as I am self-employed it means I have a day at home! It is my lovely Jenni's birthday tomorrow and she and her hubby and son are flying off to try and get some skiing in. Not sure if Ryder will let her do much but they will enjoy the snow! She is having her family birthday today and so I am posting her card and two others that I was inspired to do by one of the projects in this months Craft Stamper magazine.
 



I brayered on some lime green Dylusion ink, found a vintage image of cyclists (Jenni and Kevin are keen cyclists) used a Paper bag studio diamond stamp in Walnut stain, brown spotted ribbon and a coloured wooden heart and a sideways spray stamp. Hope she likes it, she has been told not to look until later!

 

The next one I used hot pink ink, a crecendoH circle stamp for the background, a Paper Bag Studio negative image and incident stamp of the edge of a photograph from the same set, lime green spotted ribbon and some punched circles. The words are from Tim's chit chat stickers.

 

The third one I am not so sure about. I like what I have used but think perhaps the card is a bit heavy What do you think? The background is brayered turquiose Dylusion ink again with a Tim background stamp in Walnut Stain.The measure is a Tim stamp, as is the ruler. The sentiment was cut from an East of India garland set, then the numbers were Paper Bag Studio and gingham ribbon and a punched circle to finish. I offer it, warts and all. Well that was a lovely morning playing, guess I had better be good and do some H work! x

Tim's January tag.

Time for Tim's tag for January, find it here. I was surprised to find I had most of the stash he used, just a few improvisations. Lovely tag to start the year and one that could be adapted for a mans card. Saying that, Happy birthday for the 7th Tim, hope it was a good one.

 



 

Had  to use a different hand, and the sentiment I have had a long while but I liked the way it went with the clock embossing folder. I used the same distress inks as Tim, Rusty Hinge, IcedSpruce, Stormy Sky and Walnut Stain and some metal sprocket gears from my stash, the rest is very much as he tutors it. I loved the idea of stamping on the ribbon, I used a clock background stamp and then promptly rubbished up the photograph and didn't get it in, sorry! There are a lovely assortment of takes on this tag on Tim's blog. I  was looking through other peoples offerings and found someone who has a notice board with the tag on and eleven black tags ready to do. Then I lost the link 'cos I'm rubbish on the computer, so I just want to say to the lost person, GREAT IDEA, I intend to copy it and get a cork board ready, thanks a lot and sorry for losing you!

Got to make my beautiful daughter number 2's birthday card now, so be back later (once I have given it to her). x
