Sunday Stampers Shiny!

When I saw Hels challenge for this week I just knew I had to do something for my banner that would remind me of the Olympics and all the lovely shiny medals that our Olympians have won for us - Well done team GB!
I used up some Portobello road papers and some stickers of a bus and taxi and heart flags that I had left over from the Jubilee celebrations that were glittery and shiny. Then I made two mini tags that I stamped with a Tim quote, 'It's not who you are that holds you back it's who you think you are not' and 'Be an Olympian - live the life you've imagined'. Two saying I hope you will agree are apt. We can all be the equivalent of an Olympian if we work on something that we love doing.I added a row of shiny gold medals and stamped Congratulations onto shiny silver card.

Two little flags to wave and a glittery F and finally a little I love London 2012 sticker on the bottom. It has been quite a year for us Brits, which is lovely in all the economic gloom. Five more banners to go! Hopefully it will be up in the craftroom soon! Have a  lovely week everyone. x

Tims Tag of 2012. August.

I think Tim's tag is fabulous this month. Like most people I don't have all the right Tim Stuff, so here is my take using what I could find in the craft room. It's surprising I can find anything in there mind, it's such a mess!

001
I had to improvise with the frame and used a stencil that I coloured with black soot distress ink, then I had a smaller cameo type stamp that I embossed in the centre. The embossing folder was a challenge and so I used a part of one down the side. If you could have seen the mess I got in making the roses! Tim makes it look so easy, but there are several in the bin before I got to these. I had the epoxy word pieces and thought they went with the colours well. Had to use a Martha Stewart punch on the bottom. Very fun to do, I do love making his tags, thanks Tim! To see the original go here! See you soon peeps, enjoy the last of the Olympics. x

Sunday Stampers: 217 - Patterns

Goodness me I am not at all sure I like this tag, but I've done it so here it is warts and all! I mean no-one could say it isn't patterned could they!

003
I covered the tag in distress ink and then stamped a mesh grid in brown achival over the top. Then I used a piece of a Studio 490 pattern in Barn Door DI on the right and used a free swirl from Craft stamper on the left in green archival. Strips of ginghams and spots on the bottom and then a green check frame over the top. Then two stampotique stars double stamped on green stripes with three little wooden patterned hearts coloured on the side. A zetangly butterfly with red gems and the word 'pattern' in little discs (can you spot I ran out of N's so turned a z upside down?) Then a Martha Stewart punch to green spotted paper.  Definately too much pattern, I put it down to my new Granma status, I told you my head would be all over the place!

July's Tuesday Tags.

A few days late but I'm sure you won't mind! Here as usual are my months worth of Tag Tuesday tags all on a sea theme this month and now stored away in my large sketch book.
002
The first week was 'At the Seaside' and so I drew a Punch and Judy, coloured with promarkers and put them in a tag booth with a little 'next show' sign stuck on a coffee stirrer.

The following week it was 'Swimming' and so I stamped this lovely vintage bathing belle, distressed with various distress inks and added some embellishements like the film ribbon and the little stamped
beach huts down the side.

Next came Sea Birds and so I found this lovely  beach scene stamp I have owned for years with a chair looking at the view and I added several different seagull stamps to the image to make it look as if the birds are circling overhead,
tah tuesday, seabirds
The following week was 'Rock pools and Beach Finds'. I had fun with this one and found some lovely little fish beads on a car boot bracelet that I got for 20p! A snip of a bargain!
tag tuesday
The last tag was under the heading 'Mermaids and Water Babies' and being a Harry Potter fanatic and loving Stampotique images I turned Shamashuma into a mer person, complete with nasty looking spear, guarding her jewels. I wouldn't want to cross her!

Hope you enjoyed my Tag Tuesday review. I'm off for a cuddle with Ryder now! See you soon. xx

The Rocket has landed!

Very little time to do anything in the last few days! My dear Jenni gave birth to a 9lb 6oz wonderful boy named Ryder Jack Arthur Purcell on Wednesday. It was a scary time for her in the end but she was marvelous! Here he is with his Mum!

They have had to stay in hospital for a few days but she is fabulous, my son-in-law is the best and as for Ryder - well what can I say? I am in love!
