Sunday Stamper: Metal Gods

I have been wanting to try a drink can metal snowflake for a while so when I saw Hel's challenge this week I thought I would have a go and start on my Christmas tags early.

First of all I die cut a black tag and swished it in Brushed Pewter distress stain. Then I loaded it into a snowflake embossing folder after I had inked the inside with a silver Brilliance pad. I quite like the texture that this made the background. Then I took his quote and embossed in Pewter on black card, cut to shape and stuck it on top. The Snowflake was die cut using nestabilities snowflake out of a drinks can that cuts easily with my tonic scissors. I did the small one the same and then used alcohol ink in Slate and Cranberry just to take the glare of the aluminium away. The reverse side with the print on looked good too, I shall have to save that for another day!
Then I used different size red gems for accent and added one to the sentiment. A red ribbon at the top and there we go!  Great fun and the metal was free! Hope you are all having a great Sunday. I'm off to play again. x

  1. Genius Barb. Love the background - such a fab use of that Brushed Pewter, and way to go on that drinks can. A girl after my own heart who can use 'waste' and turn it into something so beautiful. The gems really make that snowflake pop. Hugs, Buttons x

  2. Barb, you tag is fabulous! Love, love, love the background and your snowflake is so very beautiful - quite stunning in fact with those beautiful gems to make stand out. I really love this...... Crafty hugs, Anne x

  3. Gorgeous tag, love love your snowflake and the pewter background is very striking. Tracy x

  4. This is stunning - love the background and your metal snowflakes are great!!

  5. Hi Barb.....this is a fabulous tag. I love the techniques and that large snowflake is stunning. I see you have made Tim's October Tag too and I just love it. Dont know if I will manage to join in as I dont have any Halloween stamps other than some House Mouse ones.

Take Care and thanks for visiting me and following me too.

    CRafty Hugs

    Annie x

  6. love it love it love it... all that gorgeousness on one tag... perfect... Thanks for joining in with the Sunday Stamper x

  7. Hi Barb, me again. Yes it was a lovely gift. Mo got it from Lidl for £1.50 so got an extra one for me. It has about 20 yards on the roll and is just as good as the Ranger metal (in my humble opinion)which costs a lot more. Might just try your freebie idea too though. Crafty hugs, Anne x

  8. This is a stunning tag - I absolutely love it and can't believe you cut the snowflake out of a can - so clever! I also love your Halloween tag - just beautiful.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such lovely comments - it's very much appreciated.
    Have a great week.

  9. Simply stunning, the touch of colour works so well xx
